Giulia, my wife, is a woman that will stop at nothing to be great at whatever she wants to do. She is obsessed with pushing herself and doing what is needed to get the job done and never satisfied. She is an actress, and a talented one at that, so I wanted to take everyone on a journey of her process of getting ready and shooting acting self-tape from home.

First, she repeatedly reads and studies her lines. First memorizing them, and then practicing them in the tone that she sees the character saying them.

One’s the lines have been studied to the max, Giulia embarks on setting up her self tape station, making sure the lighting and camera angles are just right.

“When I am filming, the look and how I am placed needs to be as real as the character I am playing…” Giulia

Once the lighting and camera are set, Giulia is ready to start filming and I am of course reading the lines of the character she is speaking to in the scene she is filming.

Once she and we have run through many takes of the scene, and once she is satisfied, of course, the job is not finished snd she needs to submit the tape via online. She needs to edit it, size the footage down and submit it.

“Editing is such a crucial factor in this entire process, as you can cut out the boring aspects of the self-tape and make it pop even more” Giulia

Now Giulia is finished, and she is nervously awaiting the critical results of her self tape.
